Ancient handmade terracotta factory, Moreno Cresti’s FATAP is a historic company in the Municipality of Trequanda. Moreno tells us that he attended the “University of practice”, as he calls it, when young people still entered the company to learn a trade from the basics, getting their hands dirty.

“I learned everything here, how to design a vase, how to make the model, how to use the machinery, up to obtaining the final object”. Moreno today mainly creates garden pots, as well as personalized and tailor made objects: “The work has changed a lot over time because the ovens and machinery are simpler and safer to use.

Certainly the work has become lighter from a physical point of view, but there is still that manual component that makes this a valuable craft, because the models, molds and statues are still made strictly by hand”.
